How to tell which department a caller selected
In this article we show you how to use our GROUP ID feature which allows you to see the name of the group/department or company that the caller has chosen when selecting an option.
It's a common problem, you have a great sounding menu system that offer customers the options for Sales, Accounts etc, but when they make their selection how do you know which one they chose?
You can allocate phones into groups that only ring for Sales for example, however this can be quite limiting.
vivi® have designed and built a feature called GROUP ID. This feature allows you to see the name of the group that is being called, and it displays this name on the screen on the handsets that are ringing (excluding non compatible handsets such as mobile phones or landlines).
When you set up you groups of phones to ring for Sales, Accounts etc, these can be named as such. It is this name field that we display on the screen. This information is displayed on the second line of the screen, underneath the caller ID, so you will see the number of the caller as well as the group that they selected.
This feature allows you to answer that call confidently knowing which department was selected, as well as allowing you to add more handsets on to the groups that might answer the call if someone else was busy.
All current vivi® branded handsets are compatible with this feature as well as cordless gigaset handsets and even many softphones. Other older handsets may not be compatible.
This service costs £5 per month across the whole account and has a £10 setup fee.
